General procedures and best practices for you and your camera as you're shooting!
• Get an SD from the GREEN 'Format' case, Format it before shooting and return it to the RED 'do no format' case after shooting.
• Always shoot in RAW
• In dark environments, do not push the ISO past your camera's capabilities - in general keep your ISO as low as possible to avoid too much noise and grain.
• Always focus on the eye of your subject's eye that is closest to the camera.
• It's helpful to shoot in 'Burst' mode to not miss the moment
• If you notice banding in your photos from LED lights, try slowing down your shutter speed. Keep in mind, this will make capturing motion (running, jumping, etc.) harder.
• Use the Rule of Thirds grid to help compose your shots

These are helpful reminders when shooting in any environment to make sure we're both honoring and protecting our guests AND adequately capturing events.
• Smiling Faces
• Volunteers that are wearing their ministry shirts & lanyards
• Double check photos of communicators to make sure they aren't making weird faces
• When photographing posed groups of people, avoid gang signs (peace signs, etc.)
• Shoot kids you recognize / know their parents personally
• AVOID kids with "VIP" stickers (these are first-time kiddos) unless you get permission from the parents
• AVOID shooting kids name tags
• Moments between volunteers and littles-Kids
• Taking their craft home/ Kids carrying their craft out of the room/handing it to mom and dad
• Waumba Land kids singing during group time (from back/ side view)
• Parents walking their children into environment
• Kids playing with friends

Think about telling the story of a Sunday morning at Northpoint. Be sure to get a mix of wide shots, medium shots, and close-ups in all environments. Look to capture moments of connection between people, people having fun, and 'elevated' moments (openers, specials, closers, etc) of the services in the different environments.
• Musicians during run-through
• Communicators during run-through (for thumbnails)
