What is Transit?

Middle School can be a confusing and exciting season.

Transit is a Sunday environment specially tailored to help them sort it all out.

Through inspirational speakers, heartfelt small group discussions, and fun games—students explore their relationship with Jesus and how that can influence every decision they make.

We want every student to know:

  • I will love God because he will never stop loving me.
  • I will follow Jesus because he knows me better than I know myself.
  • I will live out God’s story so others can know who Jesus is.

Transit meets Sundays during the 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30 am services in the Garage.

Frequently Asked Questions:

When and where is Transit?

Transit, our environment for Middle School Students (grades 6-8), happens each Sunday at 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30 am. It takes place in the Garage, 5 doors to the left of the main entrance. Look for the Transit sign!

What does a new student need to do when they arrive?

As you walk through the doors of the Garage, you’ll be greeted by our Guest Services team. They’ll help you register, show you around, and introduce you to your small group leader.

What happens in Transit?

Well, it’s a ton a fun, but let’s break it down.

Check in, grab some food, and hang out with your small group. Be sure to check in on the iPad when you come in, grab some food if you’re hungry, and have some fun catching up with friends in your small group. There’s plenty to do before large group gets started; ping pong, foosball, Xbox or you can just hang out in some of the comfy spaces we have.

Large Group. When the countdown begins on the stage, find a spot to sit with your small group. We’ll get started with a game, sometimes just 1 participant from a small group or sometimes the whole room gets in on the fun. Then get settled to hear a relevant message before you head into small group.

Small Group. Friendships that make an impact in a great way. This time you’ll circle up with your small group and leaders and talk about the message and how it relates to you.

Our goal in Transit is that students would discover and pursue a faith of their own.

Who is my student’s small group leader?

We’re so glad you’ve asked! Our leaders have committed to lead the same small group for the entire middle school season. Give us some info here and we’ll get you their information!

How can I, as a parent, get involved with Transit?

We’re glad you asked! There are lots of ways to participate in the fun as you experience your own spiritual growth through serving. You can start by asking your student’s small group leader how you can support him or her. Offer to set up a trip, provide transportation to an outing, or host a gathering. You could also send an encouraging note. Any time you can provide the leaders an opportunity to just hand out with their students, ministry is happening. If you want to do more, consider becoming a small group leader or joining our guest services or production team. Get started by filling out this form and we’ll be in touch soon!

Can a parent be a small group leader of his or her student?

Becoming a small group leader is a fun and exciting way to stay engaged with your own student. We absolutely encourage parents to become small group leaders – and, with the incredible growth happening, we need you – but we do not permit parents to lead their own children in Transit. Some students need more space than others and are far more likely to be candid in small group discussions when parents are not present. We’ll help find the best fit for you, as well as the right place to maximize your student’s experience in Transit.

My student expressed interest in getting baptized. What is your process?

That’s awesome! We’re excited with you! Check out our Baptism page for more information.

If you are a parent of a child with special needs, we would love to meet you! Email us so we can set up a time to talk about your child and how we can best serve them.
