Urgent Needs

  • The Community Inn has a wishlist for some things and needs volunteers to really beautify their space. Supplies needed: a variety of 1 gallon annual plans/foliage; 10 big sacks of potting soil; supplies to reseal some of the containers with sealant.
  • Help refurbishing a storage unit: Painting and shelf-building/installation.
  • Serve Days: MLF hosts groups throughout the week (Tuesday - Saturday, 8-11am in the summer and 9am-12pm in the fall/spring). A typical serve day could entail harvesting in gardens, laying pathways, tending the chicken coop or goats, adding dry landscaping yards for micro-homes, beautifying the property, etc. Every one of the volunteer groups is led by a current or future resident of Community First! Village. Hosting groups like this is one of the ways they are able to earn a dignified income, which in turn enables them to do things like pay rent and buy groceries. Groups are asked to contribute $10 per person that goes toward the dignified income of the residents leading the group. The financial support also helps to buy the materials necessary for projects you'll be working on around the Village during your serve day.
